Standby Policy
I want everyone to know that I am attempting to maintain the fairest standby policy possible. I have moved scouts and adults up in the order that I deemed fairest based on the date that they signed up for the trip, prep hike participation, and prompt deposit. Recently I moved an adult up who was behind a scout on the standby list, but in reality the adult had been dropped from the confirmed list due to a miscommunication between myself and the troop treasurers. The adult should not have been moved down, and when I did so I was unaware that the adult was still planning to go on the trip, so I didn't know where to place him on the list. My error completely, and I apologize for any misunderstanding.
I have decided in that in the event that I cannot accommodate every scout, those scouts left behind will be given a leadership position in the spring Havasu trek if they desire. The position can lead to a leadership warrant that may be required for rank advancement. Of course the scout will have to earn the warrant, but it gives a scout some flexibility on the trail to Eagle.
